Leader & Tippet

RIO's striped bass leaders are made of a medium-stiff nylon and have a powerful butt and taper design that easily turns over large striper patterns and copes with tough winds. Each leader is 7ft long and available from 10lb (0.012") to 30lb (0.022").

RIO’s Saltwater Leaders are designed as general purpose saltwater leaders. They are effective for a multitude of species, with a taper design to easily turn over saltwater flies.

RIO’s Steelhead/Salmon Tippet is a medium-stiff nylon perfect for steelhead, salmon, and spey fishing.

The RIO Suppleflex Tippet is incredibly strong, with excellent knot strength and, as its name suggests, unbelievably soft and supple. A featherweight presentation does not impede the natural movement of a fly in the current.

Fluoroflex Plus Tippet is made from the thinnest fluorocarbon on the market. It is incredibly strong with fantastic knot strength. Great for trout material. Available in regular and guide spools.

RIO’s Powerflex Tippet has high knot strength, stretch, and flexibility. Colored light grey to blend in with the water, this tippet is perfect for trout. Available in regular and guide spools, from 8X to 60 lb.
